Description of accommodation and area: Set in a hectare of land, the property is surrounded by fields & woods as far as the eye can see. Access to the historic chateau town of le Grand Pressigny is via a quiet farm lane. Lined with troglodyte caves and farms the lane takes you the 3km into le Grand Pressigny - we offer bikes for use by our guests. The village offers the premier prehistoric museum in France, two bars, two restaurants, boulangerie, convenience store, butchers, tabac, weekly market, pharmacy & two doctors. A pool and tennis courts are open in summer, two rivers for great fishing, horseriding, regular football matches by local teams, the main tourist office for the Touraine Sud region, great circular for walkers, and cyclists both on and off road.

The Cosmofil experience: As a family we enjoy the challenge every social occasion brings...from an early morning visit to our neighbours to see new born calves lasting until lunchtime homebrewed aperitifs to participating in the village comice, carnaval, brocantes, bastille day celebrations, fete du travaille dinners. This involvement helps make this our home and helps our french to keep improving along with the frustration of our lack of fluency making for interesting conversation! We are regular supporters of the local football team and Alex is a keen fisherman of 25+ years, enthusiastically enrollling his daughters in the same passion. We enjoy the quiet lanes for walks and bike rides and in summer spend many hours in the local pool, rivers or lakes. The girls are keen "maitresse!" but generally we speak English at home and french outside, with French television on for a hour or so each evening it is creeeping into our home more and more. We can offer anyone staying plenty of things to see and do onsite, from organic gardening, fruit and vegetables, to the delights of delicious freshly laid eggs from our hens. The next big project is the renovation of an empty barn to provide us with a permanent home, plenty of traditional french building methods will be available to see in progress, reinstating the roof, walls, doorways and creating windows.
